Afraid not - has to be self chargingmysteryUser said:Do you have the facility to charge a car at home or work?
Depending on how many miles you cover in a typical day a plug in hybrid could also be an option. I bought one recently and it works very well for my use case.0 -
A Toyota is a no brainer for the mpg, you won't however get fun to drive with the CVT gearbox.1

Then your Auris was broken or your Focus was diesel.Grumpy_chap said:I had a 2014 Auris hybrid and the mpg was no better than my 2007 Focus.Im A Budding Neil Woodford.0 -
My Focus is petrol. 42 mpgAuris did 43.5 mpgI think I had too high a proportion of motorway miles to gain the best of a hybrid0

Hybrids are best in town driving.I hate the term self charging hybrid, they are not self charging! The ultimate in misleading marketing which is actually band in many countries.£25k might (just) get you into a brand new 40kw Leaf via CarWow or the like. If you can charge at home and don’t do more than 150 miles a day it should suit you. They are fun to drive.0

I took the use of the term 'mpg' in the thread title and 'petrol or hybrid' in their first sentence as a strong hint the OP didn't want an EV.Deleted_User said:Hybrids are best in town driving.I hate the term self charging hybrid, they are not self charging! Unfortunately I can't get an electric car as I have no access to a charging point.Deleted_User said:
