getting rid of old sofa - cheapest way?

I believe the issue with the charity shop not accepting furniture that does not have the relevant UK fire safety labels is that, without those, they cannot sell the item on.0

Even if the furniture has the relevant fire labels it doesn't mean they will be taken by charities. I have had three charities turn down stuff in the past month. All in good condition with fire labels but have been told it is too old fashioned to sell. On Gumtree to give away for free but no takers so looks like I will be getting the screwdriver out to take the stuff to the local tip.
Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0 -
The OP also mentions the sofa has tears / rips - so it sounds like it isn't in great condition and should be disposed of rather than donated to a charity.
