Chase bank

I am very worried about chase bank. They are more than slow in replying to my concerns. When I went to transfer money from my account at another bank to them their account number and sort code was not recognised by my bank so I decided not to sent any money as I found this to be most unusual. I then tried to close the account. And I’ve being trying to do that for 2 weeks now. They say there is a close option if you click on the three dots to the right of the account name. I can see the three dots but I can’t see a close option. I have sent them pictures of what I see. They say delete and reload the app. I’ve done that twice but it’s still the same. No close option that I can access. It’s now been two days since they last responded to my messages. Why can’t they close my account? Why are their details not recognised by my current bank? Why is their customer service so slow and inept?

They, amongst many other organisations, are not part of the Confirmation of Payee process, yet.
They have indicated their intention to sign up to it.
Just do a test transfer of £1 to assure yourself everything is working before you transfer your intended balance.
I'd suggest their slow response is due to their success and have a huge influx of new customers to deal with, often possibly with the same concern.

And I'd hazard a guess there are 20 'Chase' threads... and some people aren't impressed either, but most are.0 -

There’s no need to be worried about the Chase UK account. They are authorised and regulated by the FCA/PRA and have the £85k FSCS protection, like any other bank. They have a superb 1% cashback offer for debit card spends, a simple app, a great CS which responds swifttly to urgent problems, and they have a fantastic savings account. Don’t close your account, don’t cut your nose off to spite your face! Locate and read the existing MSE threads about Chase.1
