Debt recovery plus

I received a parking fine from Horizon parking which stated I overstayed at the cinema.   I have a blue badge (displayed) and registered it at cinema and left at end of film.  I appealed the fine and they said it still stands but in their email it stated I could send further evidence, so I sent photo of blue badge.  Fast forward two months and I have received a letter from Debt recovery plus stating I have not responded to previous letters (I have not had any) and the fine was now £145 and I need to reply in 7 days.   I tried calling twice today and on hold for almost an hour twice.    What can I do.   I am disabled and have neurological problems so cannot deal with this stress.   I have never had a parking ticket in my life.   Please help

The fourth post of the NEWBIES thread describes exactly how to deal with debt collectors letters, but to summarise that post - ignore them.

As KeithP says .... IGNORE THEM.

And, as this is all new to you, here are some facts.

DRP are simply circus clowns who pop up all over the country sending out total rubbish to people like you.
They are pointless and powerless and they tell lies

You do not owe what they claim because they have added a fake amount.  I'm sure you would like to to know why they add fakes ?

DRP and indeed Horizon belong to the British Parking Association known as the BPA.
The BPA were entrusted by government to produce their own code of practice for the parking industry.
The latest and last code from the BPA said that parking companies and debt collectors could add extra charges ?  Fools you may think and you would be right, so much so that government had to step in provide the motoring public with a code of practice that would be fair.
GOVERNMENT HAS BANNED THE FAKE CHARGES ....

And it is the same FAKE charges that you see from DRP.

Where does the blame lay ?   with the BPA OF COURSE for allowing a major scam to happen

That is in the past but does mean the BPA has lost control as government has taken over

Back to DRP, pathetic money scammers, who everyone can ignore

The one thing I like about this site .. MSE, IS THAT EVERY post appears on a google search. It's not just your thread that will appear on google, there are thousands and each one telling peope to IGNORE DRP.   The same applies to facebook and twitter and trustpilot.

What a mega problem the BPA have created

  • I received a parking fine from Horizon for parking at cinema.  It says exceeded maximum stay (I didn’t) .  I appealed and told them was at cinema, parked in disabled parking and left straight after film.   They rejected my appeal, although further down email it states “further evidence” ie a copy of blue badge which I sent and heard nothing back.  Today I received a letter from debt recovery plus saying they have sent previous letters and I need to pay now!! £145.  I have a neurological illness and this stress is really making me Ill, what can I do.  I’ve checked the forum and most cases are saying to appeal, I’ve already tried that and had no success..    please help!!

Hi, I read through all the posts and it was saying to appeal, but I’ve already done that.  I’m just worried if I leave it the fine will get bigger and I am worried about getting a ccj.   So sorry but with my illness I don’t take things in very well

Please ask @MSE_Laura_F to merge your two threads as they are duplicates.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No, it didn't say that at all. The word 'appeal' wasn't even mentioned in any of the replies.

You had four replies on that thread. Two of those replies effectively said ignore that debt collectors letter and the other two suggested you complain to the cinema and to your Member of Parliament.

Now, please let this thread die and sink into oblivion.
Please continue with any discussion about this one parking incident on the one thread.
