Details on fixed rate deals in October 2021

Hi everyone

Newbie here. We have been having an issue with EDF (long, long, boring story regarding a new account number needed).

They have taken from October 2021 until this week to resolve the issue. In this time we have been unable to move away and take up a fixed rate deal elsewhere and have obviously missed out on being able to take a good deal. We were intending to transfer to a new supplier last October.

I am now having a discussion with EDF with regards to the compensation that they owe us due to us because we were not able to move in October - the rates have gone up so much in the meanwhile.

What I need (and cannot find despite lots of Googling) is information on deals available last October - I can find links to old deals but I particularly need information on the specific rates for standing charges, days rates and Economy 7 rates.

If someone could point me in the right direction to find this information it would be very much appreciated.

Look at the tariff information section on the suppliers websites, they will all be on there. I am not sure, but from memory I think that October 2021 was already too late for a good fix anyway.

I've tried and failed to find the rates on the Download Centre on the EDF site, I can only find business rates not domestic.

I cannot link to the page as I am a new member here and not allowed to post links.

Am I looking in the wrong place?

    That are SVT.

OP was asking for fixed tariffs in the heading. I assume you want to ask to put onto one of the tariffs that existed in October @JuliaWt?

I'm sure you are right.  I transferred from Bulb to Eon Next on October 1st 2021 on a decent 1 year fix but I had set the wheels in motion on 14th September 2021.  I got in just before everything started going really pear-shaped.  Between September 14th and October 1st, fixed deals became increasingly rare and more expensive seemingly by the day.  I'd be surprised if there were any decent fixes available after 1st October (without the high premiums that we now see) and almost certainly none lower than the SVT Cap.

The fixed deals were virtually all gone by October 2021; the SVT was effectively the best fixed rate until 1 April 2022.  A few of us managed to get BG's Zero Fixed Oct 22 tariff.  Details of this and other tariffs are available at BG All Tariffs.

A very similar question was recently asked here:
Does anyone know of fixed tariffs available from the big 6 / shell on or after 17/10/2021?
    and my reply:
A focused search of the forum should find what deals were being discussed in mid-October. I think most people were choosing the SVR in the hope that the April cap would be lower than it turned out to be (Cornwall Insight were predicting a cap of £1660 or so, which turned out to be rather optimistic).
For example here's a thread from early October where the only fix on offer from E.ON was 29p/kWh plys 35p/day SC.
The forum search system is rather limited but here's a link to a search that might get you started. It's giving me 399 hits, but you might be able to narrow it down a bit further.
Once you find a likely-looking tariff, you can look up the specific details on the supplier's website.
For example, in this thread the OP has switched to BG "Home Energy Secure November 2023". You'll find full details of that tariff on BG's site here. For my region, asking for E7 I get sent to this page (yours is likely to differ unless you're also Southern.)
On that page I can find the rates:
    • Day: 24.681p/kWh
    • Night: 13.269p/kWh
    • Standing charge: 29.678p/day
It's a bit long-winded but it will get you enough info to go back to EDF with.

EDF offered a 3 year fix in mid-August last year, to start at beginning of October and run to September 2024. I'll post a screenshot of the offer.
