Help needed for Germany Covid travel entry permissions error
I am due to travel to Germany in a week for a friend’s wedding. I am all booked up with flights hotels etc. I thought I had read the Covid entry rules and have downloaded my nhs vaccine pass.
Unfortunately, I somehow missed the part about the last vaccine needing to be within 270 days. Maybe I read the wrong page or got confused with other destinations.
I’m double jabbed but no booster and my last jab will be 294 days before arrival date. It seems I’m now too late to get a booster as I need one more than 14 days before travelling. It doesn’t seem as if Germany accepts negative PCR tests for entry for UK nationals.
Am I completely stuffed or is there any way around this – ie some way of getting some sort of certificate /combination of vaccine and PCR test? Is there room for leniency?
I’m hoping someone here might be able to help from experience

Hello from Germany.
I flew from UK to Poland, then travelled overland into Germany (via Slovakia and Czech Republic). At no point has anyone checked my vaccine pass.

I don’t think that have to wait for 14 days to have passed after the Booster before entry into EU country. So get your booster asap . If you’ve received a booster vaccination it will show in your NHS COVID Pass for travel within 5 days.1

Are you a UK citizen/resident?Voyager2002 said:Hello from Germany.

Though unless I’m reading it wrong Germany (maybe unlike rest of EU) does specify 14 days

I can't advise on the situation of flight arrivals to Germany from UK, but I can confirm that there are no overland border checks, so you have the option to drive there if necessary, if you're determined to make the wedding.

There is no requirement for 14 days to have passed to get the booster. So you can get it the day before you go.2

I would advise leaving more time than 1 day for your booster. Just because you need the NHS systems to update and show the booster in your Covid pass. Generally this happens within 24 hours, but as above they do say up to 5 days. Depends on where you live, but try and book a booster jab today, or see if there's a drop-in centre near you.jimi_man said:There is no requirement for 14 days to have passed to get the booster. According to the gov.uk website 14 days must have passed between your last vaccine dose and travel to enter Germany. Going by what the gov.uk site says then the OP does not meet the requirements to enter Germany. Of course whether they enforce the rules strictly at the border is a separate question.jimi_man said:There is no requirement for 14 days to have passed to get the booster. It refers to 14 days after final dose of primary vaccination (not booster)2

Can I ask where you got that information as the plain language of the website clearly doesn't say that? I have seen it stated elsewhere (e.g. Netherlands say boosters are considered valid immediately) but I can't confirm for Germany if they have a different rule or are just communicating it badly.Caz3121 said:It refers to 14 days after final dose of primary vaccination (not booster)1 -
Agreed the wording is confusing butThe final vaccine dose = the final dose of your primary vaccination … not the booster“Your final vaccine dose must have been administered at least 14 days prior to travel…..
Proof of vaccination is valid for 270 days from the receipt of days after the final dose of your primary vaccination. 270 days after the final dose of the primary vaccination, you need a booster to be considered fully vaccinated.”
