Thank you. I've emailed the court as you suggested.
The total they were claiming before was £267 and I think they have added on the £27 court fee.
Should I now try to pick apart their WS? I'm not really sure how.
Some of their WS points to the numerous signs in the car park. There are indeed several but I would argue they aren't clear, they aren't readable if you are driving along, and the one nearest where I got out was placed well above head height.
They also draw attention to the numerous letters I ignored (demands for payment). Plus they make references to a few previous court cases.0 -
Why not read other witness statement threads about the same solicitor? People have pulled that template WS apart for months if not years!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

No because they are only findable by a good search. Try the name of solicitor firm plus a few words:
e.g. QDR witness statementPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I've spent the last 20 minutes searching and trying to find a thread that specifically picks apart a QDR witness statement but no luck. I did find mention of an '8 page QDR template WS'. The one they sent me runs to 8 pages too, so a glimmer of hope.
Can anyone else help me here?0 -

I find the search function difficult. While not QDR but BW Legal, I did pull apart the Claimant's Witness Statement here. See paragraphs 58 onwards for how I responded to every one of their paragraphs. My approach to the task may help.

Please then tell us here that you have done so.3 -

Thanks both.
How does it work from a procedure point of view if I want to respond to the claimant WS? Should I write out a numbered response and take that along to the hearing and refer to it? The day after I submitted my WS they sent me theirs so I didn't have time to formally respond to their WS in my WS.0 -
Yep just write yourself a short 'crib sheet'.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I just wondered if it had any bearing on the case that the landowner company is now dissolved and the car park location is basically derelict - it has been abandoned since 2020?0
