So with these people, what is the best course, just pay the £100 or ask them to prove something or say why I am not going to pay, or what? I know it is my choice, but I am wondering what people have found with this company.

You defend it in court and win. See NEWBIES thread; all stages are already coached there.
Show us anywhere on this entire forum where we tell people to pay ex-clampers like Excel a penny, let alone £100!
There is no risk, before you ask. Read the newbies thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you, I have read the newbies thread, there seems to be up to date and out of date information spoken about, and that is why I started this thread to be sure I am current. Thank you again for your help.

I will be editing the Newbies thread again this year sometime. It's a closed thread so I have to ask permission of the Forum team to open it before I can edit. I held off, due to the new Code of Practice coming in and the Govt regulatory changes.
So much is likely to need changing, as and when the new Code is implemented.
If you saw something that is actually 'out of date' advice, please let us know.
The only thing really 'out of date' that I know of, is the example WS which takes people to the one by RobertCox and the Southampton Crosby case. We don't use that any more but the most recent WS we now point people to read (by wobs2k) was only written some 3 or 4 weeks ago, so there hasn't really been a delay and RobertCox's WS isn't bad. It just doesn't reflect the new Template Defence and DLUHC ban on added fake costs.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

........... and the (additional) problem for @Coupon-mad is that every time the thread is unlocked posters add their problems to the end of it!Coupon-mad said:I will be editing the Newbies thread again this year sometime. Hi, I sent the two letters to Excel, neither has been replied to, and one of the reasons I did not fill it out online is that on Excels' appeal page you have to give a reason from a drop down list and they all incriminate me as the one responsible and the driver. In your experience, should I leave it at the letters I have sent, or any idea how to reply to Excel without incriminating myself?Thanks0

I have now received a Letter Before Claim from Excel, looking through forum direction on how to proceed there seems to be many posts about this, and under the newbies thread it appears to have dozens of points on what to do, POPLA, IBC etc, I am totally overwhelmed. The LBC came today and the 'pay or else date' is September 22.It appears to be a council car park, so I have complained to my local councillor, but only got an automatic response saying that she has health issues and isn't working, and no word back from Birmingham council or my MP as of yet.Do I now ask for a SARS? DO I ask for confirmation of the landowner so I can ask them to go to court and explain the lack of disabled spaces and defined parking bays?I have not identified the driver at any point, I have only done as directed by Le_Kirk and Coupon-Mad.Thank you for any concise direction.0

Just read the 2nd post of the NEWBIES thread. There's nothing about POPLA in that post.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Don't worry, I got a final demand off them today, posted 6 days ago allegedly and due tomorrow. They keep threating court, but just keep sending demands.
If I'm correct you now need to email a SAR request to their DPO and request a 30 day stay as you are recieving debt advice, but deny being in debt.
Follow the advice given by coupon-mad etc and in the newbies thread and you'll be fine.1 -

I want to try complaining to them as well as everone else in authority, except perhaps the Pope.
