I used to point a torch up and down the wall for one of my cats and she would follow it.  It was amazing how high she would jump.  Cats are very agile

One of my mogs loved an empty crisp packet tied into a knot. Would bat them all round the house.
Practice golf balls went down well for the same reason.
However her favourite "toy" was a lightweight mat on a vinyl floor. Puss loved to take a running jump, land on the mat and slide across the floor.
