Commissioning Gas Smart Meter!

So since my forced move to EDF I have been on at them to get my gas meter connected to automatically send them readings...so far without any joy.  I'm with Octopus for electric and they are able to receive readings from the electric meter without any problems.  As a previous customer of Avro (dual fuel) they were able to receive readings from both meters also.

I received an email from them yesterday saying to contact them when I am in front of the meter so that I can help them with the commissioning process.

Has anyone else had/done this before and can advise just what is likely to be required for me to do when in front of the meter?

    Thanks
I had to do this for Octopus. It was nothing than a two button press: that said, not all meters are the same. I would go along with the request. If there is no success after 59 minutes, the meter will cancel the commissioning process.
Anything that you are asked to do will not stop the meter from recording usage.

The meters themselves do not continuously send out data to the DCC Network. Each supplier has to initiate a request to the comms hub to pull data. Part of the meter post commissioning process is for the supplier to send a bespoke security certificate to the meter. If there is no security certificate, then the meter will not respond to any instructions or requests.
