I've wondered about this myself ... I've got a Canon EOS 1000FN that I've had for quite a few years now, along with two Sigma lenses (can't remember which ones). I rang Sigma and asked them if the lenses would work on the 350D, and they said no, and that because the lenses were so old (probably between 9 and 12 years old, can't remember exactly how long I've had them) they couldn't even rechip them and I'd have to buy now. There was something about the attitude of the chap I spoke to, so I rang both Canon and my local Jessops, who both said that they are certain that the lenses will work.

I have yet to find the time to go and get Jessops to try the lenses on the camera for me, but think I might just break the bank and get the 350D with the lens kit anyway (I was previously just going to get the body).

Might go today actually and see if they work - will report back.

It may be an idea to post a question in one of the camera forums at Steve's Digicams or DPReview. These guys would probably know which lens is compatible with which camera.
