AJ Electronics £669 with 18/80 lens, 1 mega card, delivery, pay in January.

I was (well still am) deciding which DSLR to get. I've now opted for the Nikon D50. Here's my thread on the topic!!:

You won't go far wrong with the Canon EOS 350d.I've got one and took over three hundred photo's on holiday with some stunning results. You can get one from dixons for around the £550 mark with the £50 off £600 online voucher but you will have to find something very cheap to get the total price of the camera over £600 as I think the camera is priced at £595 ish.The camera is quite often temporally out of stock.sometimes you're the pigeon, sometimes you're the statue!0

Just a head's up on the pricing of the Canon, Nikon and Pentax. You can get them for about £520 at present from Currys. There is a £50 off £500 spend at present and throw in the 5% Rpoints, GreasyPalm discount - the Nikon and Canon come to c.£522 and the Pentax will come to £518 (after you claim back the £100 rebate from Pentax)."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0

Just had a weekend away and very happy with the camera. The menu's not easy to read but otherwise its fine. Just one point, before purchasing, I took my EOS Sigma 70/300 lens into the shop to see if it was compatible with the 350DSLR. They tried it and said it was. I tried the Sigma and it won't work. I just get an error message and the shutter freezes. Can anyone advise?
I can't go back to the shop as I bought it elsewhere.
Thanks0 -
Does anyone out there know about lens compatibility? I've E mailed AJ, but haven't had a reply as yet.0

I dont know. But why not try another shop - just pose as a potential purchaser and ask them to bung your lense on.0
