Winter 2022 price cap predictions - same for both electric and gas?

I predict a 33% increase from £1971 to £2621. Either way I reckon they are trying to get the gas price up so that people are more likely to consider a heat pump as their main source of heating.Someone please tell me what money is0

I think you're wildly overestimating how much of a plan or how much control 'they' may have there!wild666 said:I predict a 33% increase from £1971 to £2621. I certainly hope I've wildly overestimated but what was the early price increase estimated at, people were saying from £1277 to £1600 or £1700 but it was £1971 in AprilUltrasonic said:

Just bank on £2600 and hopefully we "on this board" will all be surprised when it's lower.

That would have been mildly amusing if I hadn't qualified that figure in post 3,4,5&6 on this very thread.wittynamegoeshere said:£5000 then if we're plucking numbers out of the air!
So for those that don't read from page 1 have a goosey gander😜👍0 -
So does OFGEM's best guess at £2800 increase in Oct make BG's recent offer more interesting for electric at 32.186p per kWh, fix for year, no fee to change to BG tariff, otherwise £75 exit fee?
They didnt give an expiry date on the offer but guess they could remove it at any time.
The increase on electric with this BG off is about 17%, so appears significantly less OFGEM's best guess.0 -
I would say so yes.locky123 said:So does OFGEM's best guess at £2800 increase in Oct make BG's recent offer more interesting for electric at 32.186p per kWh, fix for year, no fee to change to BG tariff, otherwise £75 exit fee?

I locked in fixed at 29.24p for two years in April and would lock in at 32.186p if available now.0
