Also, I have already mentioned the Philips thing because I thought it was just a delivery mistake and they would apologise and sort it out. I had no idea that they would deny everything.
  • The fact that the camcorder has been removed from the website does seem very suspicious... :-o yikes.

I think I'll get on to trading standards tomorrow and call my credit card company. Thanks for all your advice, I'll let you know how it goes.

  • I hope it goes well for you! It does seem a bit suspicious that the company are removing what you bought
  • The credit card company should protect you for this sort of thing. If they say they can't help as for it in writing and say that you are going to take it further. This usually gives them a bit of a kick!! Credit cards usually are pretty good at this though I'm not sure who you bank with but Barclays and Halifax are very good. Best of luck and try not to worry x Happy Christmas xxx

Why do you think the item you received came from them or was meant to be your order if there was no paperwork?

Sounds like you haven't received the item you ordered (claim from company and credit card) and you have had a mistaken unrelated delivery which you should ask to be collected if you can find the company (it can't be the same one as they don't deal in Philips gear).

As I said before, it had the company name on the outside of the box.

I have so far taken advice from Trading standards and am covered under the Distance Selling regulations 2000.

I have written to them (within 7 days) to reject the delivery and demand my money back. Apparently it is down to them to prove they sent the right thing, nt down to me to prove they didn't!

    cheers.
  • Sorry for dragging up an ancient thread, but I'm wondering if this was resolved and the company are legit?

I have just ordered a 42" LCD from digitechelectronics.com and my girlfriend also ordered something else and we both paid on card. We haven't received the items yet, but they were only order a few days ago.

What I'm concerned about is that both of our cards have been cloned and the banks have cancelled them (RBS and Natwest). This is the only place we have both used our cards recently.

    Thanks

The fact that both were cloned after using with this company would make me think that a member of staff there was involved, in my opinion. It sounds too much of a coincidence. I would ring the company and see what they have to say, and see what the status of your order is. I did a quick google and couldn't find loads of complaints - which is what you usually get when a company is dodgy - but some of the glowing reviews on their web site just don't ring true.

Unfortunately the police will probably not be interested in looking into the matter. I had a similar thing where I gave my cc details to pay for a service and a couple of days later someone tried to buy a mobile phone over the web with my details. I knew who had done it because I hadn't used my card for months. The card was cancelled, but the police weren't interested as there was no financial loss to me.
