Well done on your victory.
Love it when someone costs this grubby company £££

Very well done.
"3. Following the rules of the road and stopping at a pedestrian crossing is not a legitimate reason for a parking controller to ask for the keeper's details for my car.- To which the judge wholeheartedly agreed."

That is marvellous - a counterclaim £250 plus costs win based on breach of the DPA - congrats.
This is unusual and great news!
VERY WELL DONE!
So others can copy your lead, could you show us here (when you get a moment) your submissions and how you pleaded the counterclaim, what your WS bundle looked like, did you do a skeleton argument, what were your authorities & exhibits, etc?

That's brilliant news. Well done.
May I respectfully ask you to complain again to the foreign landowner and their agent Bristol Airport Ltd with your court success details (not that I expect them to do anything about it), your MP, and the DVLA.
Ask your MP to contact the MP for the airport (Dr Liam Fox I believe), obviously adding that the UK legal system sided with you against an unregulated parking company that issued you with a PCN for stopping at a zebra crossing.
Once your complaint has been thoroughly investigated you have been fobbed off by the DVLA you can then report them to the ICO with your court success.
You should ask that both MPs separately question the DVLA about this data breach and indeed, ask them to raise it in the House of Commons and with the DHLUC.

Thanks @Coupon-mad, and thanks @Fruitcake I'm really grateful of the very positive words. Your combined support has definitely made the difference between me winning and losing.
I am going to wait until the judgement is published before I do anything. But yes, I fully intend to make the various complaints suggested and to publish my submissions and documents here. @Coupon-mad no, given what I just googled on what a 'skeleton argument' is, I didn't.
On reflection this morning, I'm a little deflated and frustrated that I didn't ask the judge to clarify his reasoning around whether a contract was offered and accepted, and whether VCS are actually permitted to control the roads, if the byelaws are what they appear to be. Maybe the judgement will make that clearer, if I didn't quite retain what he said. So it is a narrow victory around VCS attempting to enforce 'no stopping' when drivers are clearly obeying road laws and then illegitimately requesting data from the DVLA. I know that is something, and winning a Data Protection breach claim is not to be sniffed at.

The written judgment will just be a factual sentence or two to state that judgment was made in your favour. It will not be a transcript of the case. You can request a transcript, but you have to pay for that, and it won't come cheap. Three figures, probably taking care of a good chunk of your costs award. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

FYI. Cheque arrived in the post this morning from VCS' legal firm with my costs + the data breach fine = £323.40.
A cheque !!!!!!! I gave the legal rep my bank account details at the hearing so they could do a transfer
The court hasn't published the judgement yet.4 -
Well, they were never going to make it easy for you were they? Anyway, cheques can be paid in through the banking app by taking a photo of it.4

It will just say you won (not why) but please show us for posterity, and pay the cheque in by photocopy so you keep the physical cheque and can frame it in your loo.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thanks folks. Sadly my bank doesn't allow alternate methods of paying in cheques. It is in an envelope. I did photograph it for posterity. And yes, framing it my loo is an idea, thanks @Coupon-mad
