Thanks for the Adsa info.
I had spoken to CS after my last delivery & they said to write in the box that I required it to be put in the kitchen.
Todays deliverer was very reluctant to do so & suggested that I asked for bags next time.Sigh.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. Todays deliverer was very reluctant to do so & suggested that I asked for bags next time.Sigh.Ah!.....bags! I remember those days. Now every item is separate, taken out one by one,and it takes forever when you have 45 or more items. Back in the day that would just be in about 5 carrier bags, and you can empty one at a time at your own pace. I still grumble at the driver about it every week ,clutching a tin of beans in one hand and some cheese in the other. One driver,a young lad, obviously bored by his job, during the worst of covid used to just dump the stack of trays on the ground,at least a foot away from the door, really difficult to reach, then step away about another 6 feet and lean nonchalantly against the fence. Whereas another,a woman, would put pick up an item in each hand and put them on the bench, and I would move them away to other surfaces,we had it down to a nice routine,a bit like the conveyer belt in the shop.
One odd bloke would stand there with a heavy tray full of items and I would scurry like mad, embarrassed that he was holding such a heavy box for so long. Eventually he would put it on the step, but no fun for me bending down to pick things out repeatedly. I now have them all trained to put one box on the bench beside the door, but there certainly isnt much joy in delivery. But its still a hundred times better than going to the supermarket myself, wrestling with the trolley, buying lots of unnecessary stuff, and then waiting 20 mins for a taxi at a fiver a time. £6 a month delivery charge is def worth it!,Even if I do end up with 50 grocery items scattered over the stove, microwave, table and every surface till I can put them away!2 -
Email from Am@zon last night about rise in subscription,£7.99 up to £8.99 on the monthly option,,up from £79 to £95 on the annual. I have the annual, still 8 months to go. I have had 15 deliveries in 4 months,so I've certainly benefited from prime delivery.Only watched 15 TV programmes in that time.Thats mostly because my TV has built in Netflix, but not am@zon.Only one hdmi slot on my 15 yr old TV,which is in use for my freesat box. It seems like a sort of afterthought to the designers back then, placed in an awkward position, very fiddly, and has to be put in vertically from below, you cant see what you are doing. No way am I taking that cable out to fiddle with putting in another just for a film! I suppose it is possible to get some sort of hdmi splitter to use for the freesat plus another cable coming from the laptop, but cant be bothered, rarely want to watch TV anyway.I did used to like watching the Walter Presents on All4 on my TV,then for some reason All4 was taken off the freesat, you can only watch on laptop,Like am@zon, I dont enjoy watching on the laptop, picture too small, and hell on my back, sitting 2 hours. Ouch.Watched The Wheel of Time, and a few Walter Presents serial killer items, but thats it. Dont enjoy prime music either, too tinny, much better to use the built in YouTube on my TV,excellent sound quality.I'll keep an eye on how mant deliveries I get over the year to see if its worth renewing,Maybe at £79,but at £95? Not so sure.2

I have a collapsible plastic box (Amazon) on wheels which I take to the door and fill. Easy then to wheel into kitchen. Mr S driver usually has my order in three boxes which he/she rotates so I only have to take from the top one.All that clutter used to be money2

We get our asd@ order delivered too, but it's our DD's, my dad's and ours! We ask the driver to put a crate just inside the door and stack the rest on top. While they go back to the van my DH and I carry a crate to the kitchen, where I empty it. Repeat as many times as necessary, then sort and bag into various orders! I also signed up to the asd@ rewards app which connects to your online account, and so far the rewards have paid for my delivery charge plus a bit more 😀2025 Fashion on the ration

What a carry on we are having just because the supermarkets got rid of carrier bags!I see that dear old Bernard Cribbins passed away at 93. He was a part of my childhood because his songs were a staple on the childrens music programme on a Saturday morning. ''Right Said Fred'' and ''Hole in the Ground'' either celebrated or denigrated british workers (hard to tell which, the tone was cleverly ambiguous!) It is automatic with me to sing Hole in the Ground whenever I see workmen doing it. They always take so long, and then slope off!R.I.P.,Bernie,you leave treasured memories to all sorts and many generations.3

Anyone else remember Childens Hour on the Light Programme? There were a host of songs which were very popular and appeared repeatedly on that show. There was a delightful collection of 100 Childrens Favourites from the show Check out the titles,it will be a delightful trip down memory lane for us oldtimers!
