Maybe it does say it but using words that dont make sense.
Please dont tell me to check the link above.

And to back up the point about 8 months:
"If your electricity is on a fixed or smart tariff, we’ve already priced your electricity as low as we possibly could (as though it includes the Loyal Octopus support). However, should your current tariff expire and your electricity roll onto Flexible Octopus, you’ll see the support in your new prices, as long as you've been an Octopus customer for at least 8 months.
If your electricity is currently supplied by another supplier, you can switch to Flexible Octopus and automatically qualify for our Loyal Octopus support as soon as you've been an Octopus customer for at least 8 months."
A better way to write which was clear would be "Customers on the Flexible tariff at this date will get prices £50 below the cap" With a note below it customers who switch later then that date to the tariff wont be eligible.
The 8 month thing looks like an exception for those who start the SVR after April 2, that combined with the bit in bold starts to make sense. But reading the bit in bold in isolation doesnt make it obvious to me.
Thank you for the quote and explanation.
I agree it could have been more explicit though, certainly.0
