No, as per the link posted above, it applies to all customers who were already on the Octopus SVT as at 2nd April, and any other customers who change to the SVT subsequently, if they have already been an Octopus customer for at least 8 months.

Yes. Somewhat confusingly, Octopus have a tariff called "Loyal Octopus" as well as this discount which is called "Loyal Octopus".

If you are on the SVR you should have an entry on your bill like the extract shared by SJMALBA.

The link above doesnt state that, feel free to quote the bit that says its for customers already on it on that date if you want. :)  Maybe it does say it but using words that dont make sense.

Please dont tell me to check the link above. :)

Thanks that isnt on my bill.

I have been with Octopus for about 4-5 years, and on the SVR since mid October, should I complain?

I have a speculative idea what might be the problem.

My tariff is called Co-op Flexible October
2021 v1 as I was migrated when Octopus brought coop energy.  I will speculate it only applies to the SVR named Octopus Flexible.  I am a Octopus customer though.  Will email the contact who has been helping me with other issues.

    Found this.

Seems I may not be an actual Octopus customer, but rather Octopus are just managing coop customers.

"From April 2, our prices will be £50 below the cap for existing Flexible Octopus customers."

And to back up the point about 8 months:
"If your electricity is on a fixed or smart tariff, we’ve already priced your electricity as low as we possibly could (as though it includes the Loyal Octopus support). However, should your current tariff expire and your electricity roll onto Flexible Octopus, you’ll see the support in your new prices, as long as you've been an Octopus customer for at least 8 months.

If your electricity is currently supplied by another supplier, you can switch to Flexible Octopus and automatically qualify for our Loyal Octopus support as soon as you've been an Octopus customer for at least 8 months
    ."

That could easily explain your situation, yes.

Thank you for the quote, I definitely interpret that bit in bold differently to you, the blog was written before 2 April.

A better way to write which was clear would be "Customers on the Flexible tariff at this date will get prices  £50 below the cap" With a note below it customers who switch later then that date to the tariff wont be eligible.

The 8 month thing looks like an exception for those who start the SVR after April 2, that combined with the bit in bold starts to make sense.  But reading the bit in bold in isolation doesnt make it obvious to me.

Thank you for the quote and explanation.

Either that blog or another link of explanation went on to say words to effect if they had to stop it earlier would give advance notice. I cannot find any mention of that now ...

    Seemingly guaranteed for 12 months

50 Million figure they mention it is costing them relates to this cap period.
