Wayleave/Easement

Could anyone advise me on the difference between a wayleave and a deed of easement? I bought a property with a wayleave all ready in place from UK Power for which they pay me roughly £30 p.a.
Through a company that has negotiated a deed of easement with them they are offering me substantial compensation.
Am I taking any greater risk than I all ready have with the wayleave by accepting this offer?

Not really a consumer rights issue, property stuff belongs more on the House Buying etc board:

A wayleave is a permission granted to allow certain specified rights over land. It's personal to the individual. An easement is a right of way over land which attaches to the property itself.
