This is strange - its like they know we are talking about them because I got an email off them with the SAR.

I haven't looked at them yet - I have managed to figure out how to open them because they were sent as a .zip file.

Is there anything I should be looking out for in this. If everything checks out then do I have a leg to stand on?

Really appreciate all your help on this people - honestly. I would have paid it long before now if I am honest.

I must admit there is still apart of me that thinks I should just pay it to remove the anxiety of any post that comes through the door...BUT I think I should fight it until the end because I do think this was wholly unfair...

Not everyone has the experience that others have - any threat of court however unlikely can still cause stress to some people, and sometimes people think it's easier to pay - thats what these firms thrive on - we have to support everyone through this process - especially when they waver...

They have been told multiple times
You cant and shouldnt need to repeat the same advice multiple times
The advice is the same as first stated. Its  waste of time having to repeat the same advice
    Nothing has changed....

Ok, but don't berate them either.

FIGHT IT ..... Why do you think Smart Parking is known as "NO SO SMART ?

Of course they read this forum, all the scammers do, even the DREGS of the scammers, DRP ??

They have to read this forum to learn the error of their ways.  And, they know members of this forum are professional unlike the scam industry

That means you will be supported on here. Continue as instructed and do not be fooled by some of the verbal Diarrhoea the scammers write
  • DE_612183 said: Exactly this. Its not something I know ANYTHING about. And I did supposedly receive a letter before claim, which from the advice I have received since posting that, I have found isn't an actual letter before claim that, in my book, is a really nasty tactic by these scammers. Especailly if you are a worrier like me.

If people are getting fed up of responding then please don't respond; however, just so you know, I have really appreciated ALL advice from everyone and no I don't need berating over something that, at the time, I thought was an actual LBC.

I can even report SMART to the ICO now because they have just about responded within the 30 days! Dammit!

    The point being is this.
Advice on a particular issue should only need to be given once and then taken on board and given a subject like this it is very black and white.

It saves everyones time and saves having to repeat previous advice or saying "refer to previous posts".

It is not about being a wavier or a worrier but when advice on a subject isnt going to change in a short time frame then constantly repeating it isnt going to help anyone. Advice repeated more then once is no more beneficial.

Maybe we should draw up some flow charts which can just point people as it seems to me (not refering to the OP) they either dont read the Newbie thread , dont understand or believe their "situation" is some what unique.

Many threads i see on here could be one or two pages at most
Yes they can be complicated subjects but a lot of information is already there.

NOoooooo!! Not flow charts, too many different paths and scenarios.  The NEWBIE sticky is there and if it is followed and read more than once, it should be as good as or better than a flow chart.  We used to say that the sticky was "not a quick read, more of a cup of tea and a (plate) of biscuits type read" but then whoever said it first likes biscuits!  Unique cannot be quantified; it either is or isn't, yet we still see posters saying "my situation is slightly or somewhat unique"!
