They should backdate to the actual meter readings on 07 September 2021, and then estimate meter readings back to 28 February 2021 when you first applied. Then give you a goodwill payment on top of say £50 - £100.

Could you get your charges for water reduced to that of a single person usage, assuming that you are the only occupant? In 2019 I requested a water meter from YW they initially said 5 months to put one in, August 2019, but they phoned and offered a date in May 2019 a few weeks later.
A single person is estimated to use 50 cubic meters per year but I'm in my fourth year with a meter and I haven't used 50 cubic meters, at present the reading is 47.980 as of last Friday.Someone please tell me what money is1 -
Hi All,
Got some details from Thames Water about what they plan to do. I won't believe any of it til I see it, but it's the first time they've done anything in all this time. Here's what they said they will do:"I’m in the process of updating our system to show your correct tariff was metered as of 19 August 2021"
"Once I’ve correctly installed your meter on our system, I’ll then take two-meter readings over a 14-day period, so I can work out your Average Daily Usage (ADU), then backdate your metered charges to 19 August 2021, based on your ADU.
I can then send you a revised bill to correctly show your water usage."
"Goodwill - I’ll of course look into this for you due to our continued failed service, and I’ll send you an update on your complaint via email, on or before 1 July 2022."

So as soon as the meter is installed, nobody in the house should bath/shower or flush the toilet for 14 days!!!

So that will apply to the OP when a meter is fitted. For those who have applied for a meter, and where the water company find they cannot fit a meter, you will be offered an assessed charge. There is a lower charge for a single occupant.0 -
Hi had a similar situation and after 6th Months had a new water meter installed. Also, Thames Water back dated my estimated usage to 30days after I made the first contact and refunded me about £350. I did try twitter but eventually called their customer complaints folks and they fixed the issue very quickly1
