Yes - ring a few solicitors today and get some quotes - then make an appointment today.notts67 said:
so is it best too use a solicters and get the house signed over too my daughter before I die?
But no - don't sign over to your daughter - that is trying to avoid paying your own care costs.
Take with you what documents you have - details of your daughter, her address, your wifeNever pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

The sensible thing to do is to make a will that leaves the house to your daughter but also gives your wife a life interest in the house. This will provide security for both. You wife will have the right to remain in the house until she dies, chooses to move out or has to go into care. You can also add clauses that end the trust if she remarried.
Giving the house to your daughter will be a bad move, it will make the property subject to capital gains tax when eventually sold and if she does not already own her own place then she would also lose her first time buyer status which will cost her thousands in stamp duty when she does get on the property ladder..
You need to make a will, but as this is such an important document you should not do this on the cheap you need a solicitor to do it.2
