They can justify it because the national average for a car at a retail outlet is what they are offering. They use services like Glasses guide to get their valuations.

The OP is expecting them to pay above market value based on main dealer sticker prices using just the most expensive as examples, within a very short distance. We would all like this kind of payout, but rarely happens.

I understand how it works but if the valuer is stating a car is like for like and the dealers best offer is £11k? it helps their claim for a higher offer.

Well the first one is in Nottingham. I have noticed prices are better far from London but that is not an option.
The second one is 10,500, as you said.
Considering we are obliged to buy a car not by choice, we are prepared to put some money ourselves and get a slightly newer one, but at least would like a fair price for ours, which was immaculate as I said.

Sometimes you have to travel to collect a car - the dealer can arrange delivery if it’s a problem.
Secondly it’s ADVERTISED at £10,500 but that’s not going to be the lowest price - as explained to you several times in the thread an advertised price and final sales price are not the same thing. You’d probably get that for £10k.
I have sympathy with your situation, but the solution is literally right in front of you - it feels like you’re being difficult for no gain. The fact that someone else found a car that’s almost a perfect match demonstrates that point rather well…
Get the £10k, ring that dealer and arrange delivery, done.

I just want to add which I don't see anyone has mentioned.

You can make a complaint to your insurance company. When you talk with customer service, ask to be passed to complaints department or to raise a formal complaint and get the reference number. Otherwise, you can also send an email/letter to your insurer, just google LV Car Complaints or check policy documents. They will then have 8 weeks to respond to your complaint.

If there is no response after 8 weeks or unsatisfactory response within 8 weeks, you can go to Financial Ombudsmen Service. If your complaint is accepted by FOS, it'll automatically cost the insurance company £750. There is no cost to you for going to FOS. The decision made by FOS is binding to insurance company but not to you.

You can ask the insurance company to make part payment they deem feasible so you can get on with your life. Tell them you have accepted the payment without prejudice and you intent to take the complaint to FOS in the mean while. If you can tell this to the complaints team who are generally quite accommodating of reasonable requests due to their KPIs, you'll have a good chance someone will action it.

By making a complaint there is a potential they'll slightly increase the offer to you as it'll cost them £750 if it goes to FOS anyways plus any additional if it is decided that they didn't offer you a fair price.

I hope you get the price you are happy with.
