Could you pay less? Remember - it might be worth thinking about switching your tariff or supplier. For your electricity (on meter point 1.........) You could save £104.41 a year by switching to Next Flex (FLEXDIRECTDEBIT-21-07-20), our cheapest variable tariff for your electricity usage
Depending upon that it is possible that come increases to the SVT in October (forecast to be ~20% for electricity/32% for gas but who knows ...) she may be better to stay on what she is on rather than drop to the SVT now.
But really you need to get a handle on usage to make informed decisions.0 -
Does she qualify for the £150 ? If so that would go a long way to clearing the debt.
Does she also qualify for the Warm Homes Discount and does she get the £200 Winter Fuel Allowance ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
OP wrote already she is on Eon Energy Plan Assist, that does not seem to be a fix, but an variable rate.

I did not see any differences to the SVT.
So I am really unsure what they would offer that is cheaper than SVT?0 -
She does get the winter discounts
I've just noticed the statement yesterday lists the tariff as Safeguard E10 DD ?
Thank you everybody0 -
Is the person on Priority Services Register Ofgem expect all companies to have this Eon should offer extra support to people on this register, if the lady such an age Eon should have noticed this when you or others have spoken to them.
This may also give rise to a liaison officer visiting or speaking over the phone. Maybe see if better tariff or help etc.
Not sure about the tariff but it might be Economy 7 ( 7hours rate) or E10 which is 10 hours rate. If so then the hours usually allow for storage heaters to run.
It has been about 7 years since I volunteered at a community help desk - so hopefully someone can clarify anything that is more up to date.0 -
E10 is a split cheap period though isn’t it? Could that be where the heavy day rate use is coming from - storage heaters not set up correctly for the cheap hours?

E10 is a tariff that offers 10 hours of cheap energy per day, same as E7 offers 7 hours.
While E7 only gives you cheaper electricity at night E10 usually will offer 7 hours at night and also 3 hours during the day.0
