Hi all - We had bad delays and a flight cancellation by BA en route to Cairo on 26th Feb. We have FINALLY had an answer to our claim today and the offer is £998.92 or less than £500 for each of the two of us. BY my calculation in todays exchange rate it should be at least £515 a head? Am I making something ? Thank you.

Could it be to do with currency exchange rates? Or Egypt not being in the EU?#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660

not €600 anymore since Brexit changes

It is now £500 for what was previously €600
no idea why your offer is £1.08 less
(depending on whether delay was departing UK or departing outside UK will determine whether EU261 or UK261 applicable)

Will be interesting to know when / if BA actually pay that money out to you - we had a EU compensation claim approved & told it had been paid to my UK bank account on 3 May. Nothing as of today 10 May. I wonder about how much of a going concern BA is...0

Interesting. I wasn't aware of the brexit change.

BA agreed to pay me 250 Euros in late April within 14 days, which they said was £208.10. The actual interbank exchange rate on the day it was paid, 11 days later, means it should have been about £213, but I can't be bothered to argue over less than a fiver.0
