Face masks will no longer have to be worn on flights and in airports in EU countries from next Monday, according to new official guidance.

But Ryanair were insisting on mask wearing yesterday (Poland-UK, no mask requirement at either end on the ground).

A black fabric one was completely fine, but for some countries won't be. The crew were handing out masks to those passengers that didn't have one to hand.
Ryanair apply the view that their planes are public transport - so if masks are mandatory in the origin or destination country then masks must be worn. So if you fly say to/from London to Lisbon or Madrid you will still need to wear one - but not say to/from London to Oslo or Dublin from next Monday as Spain and Portugal still mandates masks on public transport but Ireland and Norway don't

Put a couple in your pocket so you have them if Ryanair demand that they are worn.

You may wish to take this up with them in this case (I have no interest to) as once again that was not the case on the late Krakow-Stansted service on Tuesday.

There is no mask requirement in either Poland or the UK for masks in public transport.

Well it won't have applied to your flight last Tuesday as the change doesn't come in until next Monday as I stated - to align with the EU relaxation. Flights to Poland won't require masks but flights to Spain still will.
