Flying with Ryanair & face mask

Pl can anybody confirm whether you can wear a surgical mask or ffp2 with Ryanair going to Spain? Some people said it has to be FFP2 with Ryanair. Thanks

From the page linked by @sheramber....

You must wear a face mask / covering in the airport and on board your flight. Some countries require this to be a surgical face mask (for exemptions, see Ryanair's GTCC). If you are travelling to/from/within Italy, Austria or Germany, it must be a FFP2 face mask

I read that as you need a mask for your flight. But it doesn't need to be FFP2 because you're not flying to or from Italy, Austria or Germany.

Any kind of mask is fine for Spain with the current rules.

You can get a pack of FFP2 mask for a few quid on eBay.

You will need to check the current requirements for your airline and for Greece as most airlines follow the rules of the country they are landing in but also  have their own rules as well.

Just watch the official Government site until you go as things are constantly changing.

Face masks will no longer have to be worn on flights and in airports in EU countries from next Monday, according to new official guidance.

Although that's what the UK guidance says, Ryanair are still enforcing masks on all flights regardless of the regulations of the countries they are flying between (flew last week to/from Budapest). Masks not required in either country but they were refusing boarding to people who had didn't have a mask to wear unless they went and bought one from a shop in the airport and came back.

Wizz airs rules are a bit more relaxed. They are now only requiring masks if either the departure or destination country requires masks still. So if both countries no longer need masks, you don't need it on the flight.

But Ryanair were insisting on mask wearing yesterday (Poland-UK, no mask requirement at either end on the ground).

A black fabric one was completely fine, but for some countries won't be. The crew were handing out masks to those passengers that didn't have one to hand.
