Given credit card I don't want - what to do?

Hello,
I attempted to order a mobile phone and sim contract package through Currys. I wanted to pay monthly rather than outright so clicked their Your Plan option. I clicked order and got an email confirming my Your Plan account and £2000 credit but no phone due to a technical glitch.
By the time I went into Currys in person 5 days later due to work (over the phone and live chat couldn't help) the deal I had wanted had expired. I therefore decided I didn't want this credit account that I did not really understand. All I wanted was a new phone and contract. Currys called Your Plan on my behalf and I spoke with them and asked to close the account. I felt distressed by the situation as they did a hard check on my record and it was all for nothing. I wanted the account closed and the check erased. They said they would close my account but not erase the check. They said the account would be closed with immediate effect and a letter would be sent to confirm.
However, weeks on and my account is still active with £2000. I feel distressed by the whole experience and don't know what to do for the best in terms of my credit record. I didn't think getting a new phone could be so difficult and I am fretting because I am hoping to buy a house soon and I am worried it will look like I'm trying to obtain lots of credit. Should I try again to get it closed or just leave it? :-(

You'd probably be better asking on the Mortgages board (or your own mortgage broker) whether it actually matters from the point of view of a mortgage application. I don't think they can "undo" a hard search from your record given it's been done and you had consented to it.0

I’m confused. If you wanted to pay for the phone outright, why did you click the yourplan option? It quite clearly states this is an interest free option to make monthly payments. Not understanding something isn’t a great defence when it’s all there to read before you commit.Obviously there has been an error and I would advise you contact the finance company. I’m sure it’s Creation, although Curry’s should be able to sort it out for you. I can’t see why they should remove the credit search as you gave them permission to do that.0

Duplicate post in Credit card section. Which is best place as it is not a consumer issue.
Also you have not been given a credit card. It's a Credit account. Which they will close in due course.
