Money left in trust

I was left money in a will for when I turned 21. I am now 25 and have started looking at claiming it. There was a grant of probate given to my Auntie after the bank who were dealing with it renounced probate. I’m not very close with the family member in question so was wondering, is there a way to trace this money without contacting them to see what happened? Please Help, I’m not really sure what i’m doing.
