My partner is working at least 3 long days per week sometimes as much as 9 hours a day but it fluctuates

is this enough for both of us? He is happy to be the breadwinner and I look after the three kids and take care of the house responsibilities

but will UC put sanctions on me unless I am a job seeker?

I have only just been made redundant so paid full NI for many years, I also wondered about claiming contributions unemployment benefits? But is that the same as UC these days?

I did the benefit calculator a few times and our UC should be a lot more now that my income is no more

    Our rent is £2000 mnth

My partner earns about £1200 month

I used to earn about £1800 and we got about £1400 UC

Now we will get about £2100 UC as I have no income

We are down a long way in monthly income but we should now get free school meals and uniforms for our three kids

We should get council tax benefits

also dentist, Optition and prescription etc

I think we won’t be to worse off

As your partner earns more than £567 per month, you should be in the light touch group.
If you claim New style JSA you will not be financially better off because it's deducted in full from any UC entitlement. You will also need to have paid the correct amount of NI contirbutions in tax years April 2019 to March 2021.
It does pay class 1 NI credits though, where as UC only pays class 3. You will also be expected to look for work if you claim this.

With those earnings you won't be eligible for free NHS health costs. For this your earnings need to be less than £935 in your last assessment period. See link. https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/help-with-health-costs/help-with-health-costs-for-people-getting-universal-credit/
You won't be eligible for free school meals because your earnings are more than £7,400 per year. See link. https://www.gov.uk/apply-free-school-meals
You will need to check here for criteria with school uniforms. Some local Authorities do not have this option.  https://www.gov.uk/help-school-clothing-costs

Yes, you will automatically move into Light Touch regime automatically based on your partner's earnings in the last month.

What does light touch mean? Do I have to go to jobcentre at all?

do I have to look for work?
No. As long as you are in the Light Touch regime, they will leave you alone and there will be no contact. Your commitments will ask you to log in to your account regularly and report any changes in circumstance.
