Ba flight cancellation but unsure of compensation Amount

Hi guys we flew back from Miami to Heathrow then had a connecting flight to Manchester mid April, all was good until we landed at Heathrow first thing good Friday 6am and thought we had plenty of time until our 8am flight to man, until I switched my phone on and we’d had our connecting flight cancelled during the flight!!
we went to the ba desk and only flight they could get us on was 9pm that night so had to wait at Heathrow all day but decided to book a day rate premier inn as we hadn’t slept in over 24 hours but had to be out by 4pm so sat at the airport another 5 hours.
I’ve put in in the ba website a claim and uploaded reciepts for snacks and the hotel day stay but wondering will I get the full transatlantic compensation amount or just a domestic flight amount as we’d done the first part but not the Heathrow to man connecting flight, all booked together in one booking ref?
any advice would be great also how long should I expect to hear from ba as I’ve had nothing back yet in 3 weeks?

I think its the lower amount reading the regulation:Others may have a different view or interpretation or case history.
Article 7
Right to compensation
1. Where reference is made to this Article, passengers shall receive compensation amounting to:
(a) EUR 250 for all flights of 1500 kilometres or less;
(b) EUR 400 for all intra-Community flights of more than 1500 kilometres, and for all other flights between 1500 and 3500 kilometres;
(c) EUR 600 for all flights not falling under (a) or (b).
In determining the distance, the basis shall be the last destination at which the denial of boarding or cancellation will delay the passenger's arrival after the scheduled time.

How strange an hour after I posted this ba sent me an email and I’m getting the full £520 compensation as it was classed as full trip and they’re paying our for my hotel and extra car park and food costs.
shoukd be in my bank within 14 days apparantly😁0 -
Thats excellent news. And good to see how they have interpreted the regulation. Well done.I guess you could argue that they aleady knew the the second leg was cancelled so your intial departure point was the basis for compensation.If you're new. read The FAQ and Vauban's Guide

£500 sounds about right, knwoing that they will have used the lowest exchange rate. Euro to £ is about 0.83.

Exchange rates are no longer of interest, EU261 has become the Air Passenger Rights and Air Travel Organisers' Licensing (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 and the amounts are fixed at £220/£350 and £520 for the longest flights0

That's interesting as British Airways just paid me £208.10 on May 10th, only two days ago, saying that this was the equivalent of 250 Euros.0
