I can't believe he thought it was OK to dig up plants - that is the limit4

Perhaps it's time to get your solicitor involved for some advice in case it escalates further possibly to send a firm letter to the sellers saying that all further contact should be through the solicitor, there will be no access to your property, etc.Appreciate this is tricky with the sister next door - you couldn't make it up. If you find the previous owners parked on your driveway in a motorhome, get them out AT ONCE!!!! (See here)Mortgage - £274,000 to pay

I'm so sorry this happened, what a horrible experience for you. I agree with everyone else, make sure all future correspondence is through your solicitor. I do hope the time capsule hasn't been pushed through under the fence, unbelievable behaviour. Reminds me of a drama involving a coven ...£216 saved 24 October 20140

This is some serious Wicker Man shenanigans and whilst it must be horrible to live through, it's the best thread on here in ages. The sister next door sadly gives them a legitimate reason to be in the vicinity but as time passes so will their attachment to those bricks and plants. Do keep us updated.3

I would definitely go and have a look where he was digging and if that tin thing is on your land, then remove it.
I can't believe he was expecting to just waltz in dig up plants from your garden!
I'd dig it up, remove their stuff, put the name plaque and a chickens foot in, scratch a black magic star on the lid in then re bury it. Just to mess with them.

I’ve emailed our solicitor with a brief description of what’s been happening and asked him what he’d advise us to do. It feels like it’s gone from annoying but funny, to unacceptable and a bit worrying.I assume they have no right to take ‘their’ plants? We’re not going to get into bother for refusing? I’ve checked all the paperwork we have and there’s no suggestion of them wanting to take plants (or doorknobs!).8

I wouldn't have even let the relative in when he arrived - would've just told him it wasn't convenient for him to come in, asked him to wait outside and pass the stuff out to him. He has no right to just stroll in like that!Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.671

My ex was a keen gardener. When we sold our first house we had to specify that we would be taking some of the plants with us. And ‘with us’ meant exactly that - they were potted up well in advance and went on the van with everything else.7
