The responsibilty lies with Currys but if the machine ahs been registered with Shark then contacting them might give a better resolution?
If as you expect, Currys are unhelpful, let Shark know that too.

Hi, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 you are entitled to a repair or a replacement.

Even after 30 days. Doesn't matter what Curry's website says.

As per the information in this link - https://www.which.co.uk/consumer-rights/regulation/consumer-rights-act-aKJYx8n5KiSl

And this link from mse - https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/consumer-rights-refunds-exchange/#:~:text=The Consumer Rights Act 2015,most cases) of 30 days

Goods have to be fit for purpose - a vacuum (especially an expensive one) should last for longer than 41 days, whether you are trying to turn at an angle or not. That may be a design fault but the customer should be able to use a vacuum cleaner without causing damage.

Just take it back and say that under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 you have the right to have a repair or a replacement.

To be fair to Curry's, I have never had any trouble whatsoever with returns.

I’ve had both a corded and cordless shark and as another poster said, they’re pretty robust. The difficulty might be proving it’s a design fault rather than accidental damage.

Shark are really good with their warranty, however you would have had to register your purchase with them to take advantage of the 5 year guarantee. You need to register it within a month I’m sure.

if you didn't register it for the 5 year guarantee you are still covered for 12 months.

You will still benefit from a 12-month initial warranty without registration.

Hi just to pop back on & update, took it back to Currys expecting a hard time & they took it straight back no questions asked other than do i want a refund or a new one. Had a look at the same model on display, it was very fragile & loose at the same point mine broke so decided to go for the refund rather than risk it happening again.
