EDF smart meter lost tariff info after power cut
This morning there was a power cut in my area and since the power came back on 12 hours ago my smart meter appears to have lost its tariff info. It just says "waiting for tariff info", and on the current usage screen, "waiting for cost now". Is this something that will correct itself or do I need to raise it with EDF?

Hmm, certainly odd, you'd have thought such data was in non-volatile memory, but even so, I'd expect it to correct/update itself, otherwise it doesn't say a lot for the specs. etc for these meters etc. if the system is vulnerable to power cuts!
We had one several weeks back, for about 15 minutes IIRC. Now I didn't look at the IHD or the Meter at the time, but the data was there when I looked sometime (a day or so) after. The IHD is normally left displaying current kWh consumption. If tariff data was lost (I don't know) it did recover. (Supplier is also EDF).0 -

IHD data should return. A remote power cut is the method that the DCC uses to reboot the comms hub.Your smart meters also retain import data for 13 months.0

I don't have a IHD for my smart meter, SMETS1, it got water damaged in 2015/16. If you get monthly bills then the tariff info will be on the bill.Someone please tell me what money is0

Just checked the actual smart meter outside and the current tariff and daily standing charge are indeed still on there. Not sure why the IHD picks everything else up OK rather than that specific info.0

My EDF IHD has forgotten how to do its sums.
The unit rates are on the relevant page, the kWh readings are correct but for electricity it cannot multiply the two together and show the monetary usage most of the time.
It does, very occasionally, have a moment and shows it correctly but that lasts less than 30 minutes.
According to EDF the issue started when the meter was sent an OTA update but they do not know how to fix the IHD problem.0 -
We are with EDF and the IHD for our SMETS2 meter stopped working months ago with the same symptoms as yours. It was a few weeks after I switched tariffs.
Despite several calls to EDF, where all they could do was suggest I rebooted the IHD, it never worked again. It is now consigned to the back of a cupboard.
Fortunately the meter is showing the correct tariff and time of use data and is communicating the units back to the monitoring network.0
