BT thinking of swapping

We have been with BT for broadband, landline and hubs and I have sim only mobiles with them.
Our contract is due to run out in June so thinking of trying to get a cheaper deal. I pay £7.10 for my mobile and hubs pays for the broadband, landline and his mobile which costs £59.55.
We have been perfectly happy with the service, which makes us a bit scared of going elsewhere. Also could you answer a couple of questions please.
Can we keep our BT mobiles if we leave? Can we keep our email address and our mobile numbers?

You can keep your mobile contracts and numbers, but the price may increase as you will no longer have them bundled. May be worth looking around to see what other deals are out there and port your number across if you decide to go elsewhere.
Email addresses you would need to check, but using an ISP email address isn't the best idea as it can be stopped at anytime once you are out of contract. Use this as a time to create an email with the likes of Goggle Gmail and port across your emails over time.
The actual connection will be provided by Openreach which means it it the same for all providers (unless you switch to Virgin Cable (as an example of a non Openreach provider). So you should get pretty much the same service and speed.
The closest to BT you will get is Plusnet who are owned by BT and also offer mobile phone contracts. But there are plenty of options out there if you decide to change.1 -
Worth checking with BT if they can offer a cheaper deal - less hassle than switching. As above, set up an email address with gmail, yahoo etc. and then it doesn't matter who your provider is. If you do leave BT, I'd get updating everyone with a new email address quickly. I had an old Tiscali email I used for years after we left them, then it just stopped working. Took me ages to change all my online accounts, and some I never got back.1

Yes got a cheaper deal with BT so stayed with them
Now paying around £26 a month for broadband and they've put the gigs up on our mobiles2
