Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light and dry but cloudy, air is cooler too. I have a wash load ready to peg out - will do that in a mo. Not sure wash load will get dry - but will see how it goes.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was gammon, egg and chips for the menfolk. I had gammon, eggs and veg. Some gammon left - so will use that as part of another meal.
Work yesterday wasn't as bad as expected, although busy all day. Just working half a day at the other office today then I'm off until Monday, although I'm working Saturday morning.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc, glad your work was OK.
Grey and drizzly again today, the sun has definitely gone missing. It's cooler too so the winter woollies haven't been packed away yet.
I'll save the washing until tonight when I get home from work, everything else fairly up to date.
I had to go to the optician yesterday, I feel like there's something stuck in my eye that's causing me to blink so much I look like I have a nervous twitch, apparently it's dry eye so I have drops to put in. Glad it's not anything more sinister.
Hoping our poorlies are feeling better and those struggling with life have a better day.
Take care. XX

Morning folks, thanks for starting us off nmlc. It's very wet, cloudy and miserable outside this morning, not inviting at all.Yesterday I spent the morning faffing about with spreadsheets and doing my monthly banking stuff. Later in the afternoon I cooked a large pot of bolognaise meat sauce and prepared and riced a large cauliflower. The cauli is now portioned up and in the freezer. The other week I bought a heavily reduced packet of it from a Sains but decided it wouldn't be worth the expensive full price so dragged out my food processor and got the job done fairly quickly. Cauli is so messy, there was little bits all over the kitchen. 😀
This morning I'm invigilating for three hours so all will be peaceful for a while. On the way home I need to pick up a bag of sunflower hearts, the birds must be fattening themselves up for chick season. They seem to chuck all the seeds out of the feeder onto the ground and then eat from there. I've so many goldfinches, siskins and different types of tit along with chaffinches, it's like the start of sale day in my garden.I hope that all our poorlies and DMs are doing OK. Happy Wednesday to everyone.15 -
Morning everyone,
I'm off to the London office today, looks like it might rain so will take a brolly. I have some fruit and my breakfast to take with me but will have to buy something for lunch as no leftovers hereI had to dry DS2's bedding indoors yesterday as it never quite cheered up. DH will do some washing today and will also be cooking diner - hurrah!
We went to see the new Nicholas Cage film last night - a parody - was funny! Late showing though as it started well after 9pm - on a school night!! I am looking forward to the new Top Gun movie
Enjoy the peace of invigilating Gers
Hope the conversation at work went okay Ruby
Hugs to all the poorlies - Nels, Izzy, the snoozers and anyone else I've missed.
Have a good day all

Morning
Call done with the doctor. Went fine and they gave me 6 months so I now enter the next stage stress of getting hold of some.
Heading to mums house this morning as I want to pick some of her things that she can have around her in the home. Need to make lots of lists of what needs to be done in the house too. Her lovely neighbour is coming round to help as I wont be able to get upstairs without a double bannister. She is going to fill some bags with her clothes and I can decide what to take and what to fling. Its stage one of house clearing which I’m dreading but I can also take some stuff to make her new room more homely like her pot duck! I know it sounds weird but to us its special. When she was well and I would go weekly to take her shopping then for lunch she had a preferred pub (they did Dads funeral too so lots of memories) Years of going there then they said were closing for a while whilst they refurbed. The landlady knew us well with our regular visits and asked us to too take a memento….anything we liked as they were completely changing it. Of all things we could have chosen mum chose 2 ducks on the shelf behind the table we always sat at. Mine has pride of place on the mantle so maybe it will bring back nice memories for mum.
Not sure how long the above will take so nothing else planned.
Food tonight will be a Greek salad and some garlic ciabatta
Have a good day all

Morning all
Dull and overcast here with a chill in the air, come back sun we need you !
Off to work today and my least favourite client today, she really is not a nice person she nearly started a fight last week and upset four other clients, Wednesdays are a very trying day !
I emailed the powers that be that I would not be accepcting the new job, they were ok about it and we will have a review meeting in three weeks to see how im getting along.
Second meeting tonight with a client for my new job, and I am meeting a new client on Friday so fingers crossed for that.
Beef casserole for dinner tonight I will put it in the SC before I go to work, we would usually have bread and buter with it to soak it all up but I will do some rice or pasta with it and some veg.
Mum is doing ok but not eating enough which is a bit of a worry, but we will keep encouraging her.
Have good days all xx14 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It sounds as though most of us are enjoying (not) miserable weather just now. There is evidence of overnight rain here but there can't have been much as there are no puddles about. I suppose every bit helps the gardens!
I don't know why I am posting really as it will be a day of same old same old here. Catch up on jobs this morning and head in another new book after lunch. I am at last leaving WW2 behind and this promises to be a bit more lighthearted!
A message from eldest DGD last night to tell me she has finally settled on her Uni of choice (results dependant of course!) I don't see nearly enough of her these days what with studying, her part time job and, of course, the boyfriend! She has narrowed it down to Leeds Trinity after visiting for a look round, parent/pupil talks etc.. Just too far to travel back and forth daily but near enough to come home weekends and holidays when she wants to..
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, poorly loved ones and those recovering. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"16 -

Good morning
I wrote a post yesterday and it just disappeared, I didn't have time to rewrite it as I was going out to meet a friend for coffee. Of all the things I couldn't do in the pandemic going out for coffee was one of the things I missed the most.
I got loads done in the garden yesterday, today I'm going to go for a short walk to see if my feet have recovered, then I'm going over to my daughters to meet her new rescue cats 🐈 and hopefully a bit of lunch.
When I get back I've got loads of pots and planters to wash before they can go away
Have as good a day as you can 🌻12 -
