Received a letter in the post the other day informing me that the old 3ToGo tariff which was first released 2003 is going to be closed for good on the 28th May and all accounts will be switched over to PAYG if not cancelled/upgraded beforehand.

My old 3ToGo SIM still reports to my credit files too so wonder if this will stop on the 28th May as well.

End of an era.  :(

They seem to be getting rid of a lot of their older contracts - probably to get people onto new contracts that do not include roaming as standard and include annual increases every April. I'm similar with an unlimited 1mth rolling plan for 10+ years that has never increased in price. They offered me sim only £18pm unlimited everything if I take a 1yr contract. Currently looking at Three PAYG SIM options or possibly SMARTY who use three who are doing 60Gb for £10pm.

Yep I've had this sim since 2003 but it's not my main phone plus it doesn't give any benefits. It's simply like a PAYG sim but you pay by direct debit each month for what you've used. It's been years since I've even used the sim but it's still active and still reports to my credit files.

Looks like Three want all the legacy contracts shut down.

I called them up today to check out options and as soon as the guy saw I had required my PAC code last week he was literally pushing me out the door to another network. He did confirm that waiving of roaming charges on PAYG would be ending June 23rd and that was the only perk enticing me to stay. Off to Smarty we go (even though Three own them anyway).

Have had the sim contract since 2003, went on chat as I've mislaid the letter, and the guy cancelled the switch to PAYG, says I will stay on contract. Are Three definitely closing this tariff?

I would like to cancel the switch to PAYG too if that's possible.

It's possible, as the agent suggested it to me, just try asking them to continue with the contract on chat.  But I'm not 100% sure what the agents do will be ok with whichever department sent the letters about ending the tariff.  I don't want to end up in a situation where the tariff is definitely closing and by cancelling the switch to PAYG my sim just stops completely.

Just been trying to speak with Three on their live chat and all they can offer me is a new contract for £11 a month. The person just kept saying that my current plan is ending and they can no longer offer it.

Well this is strange, my 3ToGo plan was supposed to end on the 28th May and switch over to PAYG as that was my old 3ToGo billing date. I log into my Three account and yet I still appear to be on 3ToGo.
  • I received email for end of 3togo in May. I contacted 3 chat support and got the transfer to PAYG cancelled I am still on 3togo. Today I received sms stating I was on a new plan. I logged in 3 website and there I am still on 3togo. I was assumed to be switched 7 days ago.....

I can confirm I'm still on 3ToGo according to my Three Account as of today.
