Charter Saving Bank Sort Code?

Evening all, I’m just in the process of opening an online account with HTB to take advantage of their 2 YR Fixed Cash Isa. I want to transfer from an existing ISA with Charter. It won’t let me proceed without entering a sort code for Charter even though i have entered the account/Roll number. I have never been given a sort code from Charter, its not on any paperwork/letters etc and I’ve had several accounts of the last few years.

In a previous thread from three years ago, Charter suggested that the sort code and account number fields be left blank, as it's the roll number that identifies the account:

If the online form you're filling won't allow blank fields, zeroes might be the best option....

Or you could try moving to Aldermore instead , only 0.05% less interest and hopefully less difficult questions !

Oh, so it's Hampshire Trust Bank. That's an unfortunate acronym. Will have to be careful interpreting the statement "I have a HTB ISA" in future.

Best not count your chickens yet, the only meaningful measure of success is the ISA actually being transferred!

I’m afraid your going to have to spell it out for me as to why it’s unfortunate

It's normally used for these: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/help-to-buy-isa/ so that could cause confusion (not for you!)

I’ve never had a problem transferring Isa’s so I suppose I’m not expecting it now 🤞🏽 🤞🏽 But you are completely right!
