Chargeback system

I paid a company in full to overclad my property but they haven’t provided the goods or service.  I took them to court and won my case but the company still didn’t return my money.  I then had to apply to the sheriffs office for the bailiff to go in and recover my money.  The company then went into liquidation, so I am trying the chargeback system as I paid on my debit card.   My question is can the bank  refuse to use this system.  The amount is over £8,500.

Probably not as it seems like you paid a long time ago?. There are time limits on chargebacks, can't remember how long.
I'd have done the chargeback first.

  • I was following Citizens Advice and that’s what they said, to take court action.  I can use cashback as they have only just gone into liquidation and I have done all I can to get my money back

The time limit is 120 days from transaction or the failed delivery

  • I think if you read the advice it’s from the date they went into liquidation
