Google Maps - how to specify motorway junctions

Occasionally I want to find a route from one motorway junction (say M1 J7) to another (say M41 J3) but I haven't come across a way of doing this in Google Maps. Searching for how to specify a junction name for a Google Maps search hasn't come with any answers for me. Can anyone help, please?

I don't think there's a way you can, given that motorway junctions are not really destinations in themselves, ie, it's not a place you can stop, unless it has a service station attached.
The only way to do it is set a normal route between 2 places and drag the route to include the two motorway junctions.1 -
There doesn't seem to be a consistent way of doing it. I just tried M5, j7 and it found j7/8. Other than that it seems it will only provide motorway junctions if there is some point of interest using that as its location. Quite a major failing on a route finder.

Or you can find a junction you want on the map, click on it, choose directions, and replace the default 'your location' with 'choose on map', find the other junction and click ok.
It sounds a lot more long winded than it is!1 -
As previous poster. Also, by clicking on the junction exit on Google maps, you see the geographical co-ordinates. These would be helpful if you were using your car's own sat nav (assuming of course that it allows you to set the destination using this detail). Certainly my own car does allow this and I have found it useful on several occasions, particularly for "in the middle of nowhere" locations.

On google maps click on the junction then right click and select from here,
then do the same for the next junction and route planner comes up in left pop up box.1 -
Like this in the pic below.

Thanks, everyone! The bypass suggested by most persons seems to be the best solution for the moment, until Google Maps realises that people might like to input motorway junction 'identifiers' in the same way as they input postcodes into the Search box.0

I wasn't aware you could do that in Google Maps, thanks from me as well.

ETA: I've only used that for named roads, never tried it for motorways1
