TV standby

My tv is left on standby along with my Virgin Tivo box and internet modem. As we are looking to save on energy bills, can I switch them all off at the wall overnight, or will it cause any harm?

Yes, that may be true but everybody is different. I have been switching the hub off overnight for a few months now with no effect on the TV which you might have expected. The biggest problem with my internet is the telephone wire comes into my house across my neighbours garden. His trees grow and when they touch the wire the internet slows!
