I have seen small 'travel' kettles on eg Amazon - they are generally much smaller than traditional kettles and thus maybe easier to boil one cup or less.
They are 12v usually although I assume you could use a 12v 'brick' power supply with them
Anyone used a travel kettle - what are they like?0 -
I had a 600w kettle which took about 5 minutes to boil half a litre.0

My wife tried to save money by putting the kettle on the gas hob.................Zandoni said:The bottom line is if you want decent tea you have to boil fresh water, the most economical way to do that is only boiling what you need in a kettle. Any other method will not create a good cup.A kettle on a gas hob seems to use slightly less energy but only if you turn it off when it boils.

A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".0 -
I've got the winner, free wood in the multi fuel burner and the kettle on top (not a plastic one lol)
Plus jacket potatoes on the cast iron cooker and beans in the pot all fit snug on the top
Do I win?1 -

Fine if you don't mind waiting about 20 minutes for it to boil and then having enough for only three cups, or only two if you heat a teapot.maxmycardagain said:how about a 12v kettle boiled of a big car battery charged up by solar panels?0
