I have just discovered that to open an account with Chase Bank in order to access the 1.5% savings account, and you have an android phone, you have to be running Android 8.1 or later. Anybody know another way of doing it.

The phone also needs to be 64-bit.
There are multiple threads on the subject.

This may already been discussed on the other threads but it's possible, though unlikely, you could look into using a Windows Android Emulator (eg Bluestacks). I don't think it's practical to use the App on a tablet or laptop, and I'm not sure a Windows phone would have the juice to run an emulator

It doesn't have to be an Android phone.Hogweed_2 said:I have just discovered that to open an account with Chase Bank in order to access the 1.5% savings account, and you have an android phone, you have to be running Android 8.1 or later. Anybody know another way of doing it.
The Chase app works perfectly well on my 2015 iPhone 6s which I've updated to iOS15 (I've read somewhere that the Chase app runs on iOS14 upwards).
Maybe you could get an cheap old 2015 6 / 6s iPhone from eBay or similar????

In addition to Scoot's comment, it'll work on an iPad, too.Hogweed_2 said:I have just discovered that to open an account with Chase Bank in order to access the 1.5% savings account, and you have an android phone, you have to be running Android 8.1 or later. Anybody know another way of doing it.0 -
Works on Nokia 8.1, Poco F2 Pro and iPad.

Virtually any Apple device will be fine, it's just Android where there is some uncertainty due to a 32-bit OS potentially being loaded.
