Using mobile in Australia

Will be travelling to Australia for 10 weeks in November and would really like to be able to use my mobile for calls, texts and roaming.
Currently with Virgin Mobile but out of contract so could change. I don't expect it to be free but anyone aware of a provider that would allow use for a relatively small daily charge.

10 weeks is a long time so you'd likely be better off picking up a local PAYG SIM card while you're out there:
