I am basing my conclusion on my old bill, the kwh charge for gas and elec and the standing day charge are lower on my bill than what is being quoted in my tariff section in my account, when i check my tariff charges my bill says Gas 2.769 kwh my tariff charge says 2.908, elec says on bill 15.87 tariff says16.67 standing charge for Gas 24.83 on bill tariff says 26.08 Elec bill says standing charge 25.23 tariff says 26.50 Not a massive increase i know but if this is happening on all there fixed rate customers then thats a lot of money especially when people wont notice and nothing from E D F about it. hope this helps.1

I have contacted E D F, sent them screen shots from my mobile of the two different charges agent said he has not got them, worked every other time.I have asked for an updated bill which will show me whats what gave meter readings agent said takes 24 to 48 hrs to generate bill so will check when its in my account.

it sounds like it VAT as all those figures a 5% different (the VAT on energy).
When exactly did you notice this? Are you able to provide the previous bill details v's the recent bill showing the discrepancies? I find it unlikely to be an error or change in cost - maybe just how its presented on the bill?
Unless is a simple case of the quoted amount not including VAT (probably in the small print somewhere!)0 -
As others have said ,the lower rates are ex VAT, the higher including VAT !!1
-
Not the first or last time someone has been confused by the presentation of ex. and inc. VAT prices on the same page.

Definitely the 5% VAT.
What I don't understand is why you believe it is an increase, when on the invoice it shows a lower rate than in your tariff overview. This would have been a decrease.0 -
The tariff price you see on your bill excludes VAT as this is added on at the bottom of your bill. The price you see as your tariff price on your online account or contract pack includes the VAT so will show as higher. There is no change to the price you were initially quoted0

I'm not sure you have heard this enough. That's the 5% vat added
Easy mistake to make don't let the replies dishearten you👍👍0 -
The ratios of the 4 pairs of figures you quote are:
1.050199 1.05041 1.050342 1.050337 Reed0
