Creation did not credit a transfer of £1,000 made into their account

Just spoke to them over the phone with close to 25 minutes of waiting on the line - the lady I spoke with fully understood the problem, she logged in a "missing payment" with their finance team and told me it would take 3 working days to either credit it or ask for a proof of payment if they cannot find this payment in their account.
I asked her if it's quite normal for them to have customers inquiring about missing payments and she said it's quite unusual - I am not sure honestly why it happened to me, but for now I'm waiting for them to credit the missing payment or advise further if they cannot see it (which in this case would be extremely surprising). I'd keep you posted as soon as I have an update.

I would make sure you keep at these people over this, Creation are hopeless when it comes to customer care. My own car finance is with BNP - part of Creation, they messed up my direct debit completely which was all their fault, then had the bare faced cheek put a slow payment marker on my credit file that has taken me 3 months so far to get corrected and isn't quite finished yet.jumperabv3 said:Just spoke to them over the phone with close to 25 minutes of waiting on the line - the lady I spoke with fully understood the problem, she logged in a "missing payment" with their finance team and told me it would take 3 working days to either credit it or ask for a proof of payment if they cannot find this payment in their account.

When it comes to paying a credit card it is best to use a bill payment from your current account, attach your card reference and it will arrive within 2 hours1 -
Thank you for the tip, I'd definitely be on top of it, but thanks for letting me know how badly it could go.martinbainbridge1975 said:I would make sure you keep at these people over this....

Regarding the 2nd point - that's exactly what I did - it should have arrived within 2 hours but it didn't ... looks like from Barclays it went through successfully without troubles - but the issue is with transfers from Metrobank.
Perhaps there are other users here who use Metrobank and Creation and had a similar issue during this month of April 2022 ?0 -
That's interesting - what currency was this for? I've never had a transfer where the credit card fee was the same as the bank transfer fee.jumperabv3 said:
It's the same fees for bank transfer and/or credit card, no different from TransferWise's end.callum9999 said:
Though I'm more curious why on earth you'd use a credit card on TransferWise instead of sending them the money directly by faster payment. What a waste of fees!Grumpy_c that'shap said:So, the due date is not yet arrived?0 -

To be clear is the debit is showing at the Metro Bank account?Life in the slow lane0

Yes. It's showing there very clearly.born_again said:To be clear is the debit is showing at the Metro Bank account?
It's as if they hold 1000 from me and don't give it back.0 -
Thanks, but are you sure you're not mistaken? It quotes me at least 50% more paying by credit or debit card.jumperabv3 said:

Granted it's not a huge amount of money, but if it means you have to pay interest on the credit card and still have to make a payment by bank transfer anyway, I really don't see the point!0 -

I saw the same fees back then (13 April) when I made the transfer, that's at least what I remember, it showed exactly same fees for the card and for the bank transfer, maybe it's because it's a first use or for another reason - all I remember is there was no difference.
Maybe it has changed since, maybe there was something else - I can't tell you for sure, and it's s bit off topic (I honestly don't mind paying an extra pound or two right now, just not having to deal with a missing payment into a credit card company).

Have you spoken to Metro Bank? They may have held the transaction if they thought it was fraudulent.jumperabv3 said:

When that happens banks will usually deny it at first, because they need to be sure you aren't the fraudster.
