It'll make a big difference if you have someone who does it with scaffolding vs just doing it up a ladder
colours and rounded / squared didn't affect our price they were just choices
get 3 quotes in and see what range in prices you get0 -
It depends on the job. Sticking pvc over the old wood is a terrible job, but much, much easier to do.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Oh, and I was quoted £1500 a few years ago. I’d expect double now. That was working off platforms between ladders, ie no scaffolding. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Lots of variables.
Does your property have a gable end that needs doing?
If so, will the roof verge be disturbed and need repointing?
Just a straight run front and back, or does the property have bays or other detailed areas?
Is there easy access to all areas, or will it be a pita for scaffolders?
Are the existing soffits asbestos containing materials?
As stated above, overclad or strip and replace?
There's probably a £1,000 difference between a vat reg firm using scaffolding and a one-man-band doing off a ladder.
Could be £1,200, could be several thousand....

thanks all.
I will go for the puka job ie remove all old stuff and replace with new as covering the soffits etc is a no, no for me.
The flat bit sofit i think to call is is about 18 inches deep and th facia about 9 inches ie the horizontal bit plus two downpipes. they will need scaffolding.
I have been checking online and prices from last year talk about 100 per meter all in inc scaffolding but i know prices up so amining from 1300 to 1700 inc vat etc/etc.
will see quotes over the next couple of weeks but all builders very busy as they were on hols and now have lots of work on.2 -
We are currently getting prices for this work on a 4 bedroom detached (NW England).
Our house has 3 gables and a dormer so far from a simple roofline. Quotes so far are in the £3.8k to £4.5k range for white with black downpipes and gutters.
Our experience is that choice of profile (square edge, Ogee etc.) makes no difference but colours can add a premium.2 -
We had ours done last November, plus two windows, £3800, ( York area) next door had theirs just covered over the old wood and it looks awful2

20 years ago ( sold property since) I had two quotes
National company remove and replace £12,000 ( yeah right ! )
Local but established Firm… cover , but with new guttering and downpipes £650 ( ladders)
Choose the latter, and I was happy then and still today looks like the best in the street. (would guess he would charge at least double now).
