Virgin media bill

So without going into the whole boring story, my finances have been atrocious over the last few months (since about October last year) but recently I have been made redundant, and recently found myself unable to pay my virgin media bill, this is the first time I have found myself in this position and have repeatedly asked virgin to find a way to help me reduce my bill (get rid of the TV and land line etc). But now that I have no way of paying my bill I'm stuck, has anyone had any success dealing with them on a similar issue?
