Ticketplan fee

not strictly covid related, but cancelled tickets (by the venue).
ive received a face value refund,
we bought a ticketplan which insures us for accident/illness.
it is NOT for venue cancellation.
should we get a refund as we haven’t used the insurance.
it hasn’t covered us as it only covers last minute things like illness/accident/travel disruption, so we havent had any use of the insurance.
i have asked ticketline (the seller) as their ts & cs say upsells will be refunded.
its not covered by fos and I’m not sure I can do a partial chargeback (I paid by credit card).

You need the T&Cs of ticket plan. Does it offer a refund if the event is cancelled? I would think not as you’ve already had some benefit for being covered between when you bought and when the event was cancelled. It maybe that they will agree to move coverage to the new date as a gesture of good will.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages, student & coronavirus Boards, money saving boards. I don’t agree about receiving any benefit (I get the gist of the question).
The insurance does not provide any benefit until 4 weeks before the events (for death). For travel disruption, fire, breakdown etc, I’d expect the time limit to be much shorter e.g. travel disruption would only cover the actual day.
so we’ve had zero benefit from it.https://www.ticketplangroup.com/uploads/assets/AST-Refund-Promise-2020.pdf
there is no new date, for the event, it’s just been cancelled with no reason given.
I suspect there’s no reason given because then people might make a fuss about their booking, delivery, ticket plan fees if it was seen to be someone’s fault, but that is just speculation.
I understand the booking & delivery fees, but the terms and conditions say “upsells” should be refunded.
I am pursuing this with ticket line & STAR with reference to the ts & cs.
will eventually move onto MasterCard,
I’ve had 100% good experience with disputes for small amounts on credit cards.
thanks for your help0
