Astra H 1.6 Petrol - lack of power
Hi, wife has an Astra H (58plate) 1.6 petrol.
Recently it has started to lose any power under acceleration.
Doesn't seem to be an overheating issue.
Feels like either fuel or air supply or possibly HT/coil. (feels similar to an older car that HT lead issues).
Any thoughts on common issues for the Astra H?
Annually serviced, last year major service including spark plugs and fuel filter etc, problem has appeared 6 months since service so don't believe related to that.
No error codes on the ODB reader.
Any help/thoughts appreciated. Ta.

Have you checked the obvious ? air filter , state/ condition /colour of spark plugs ? also condition of hoses between the air filter housing and the engine.1

Had a similar problem it turned out to be a coil pack1

Fuel filter, air filter, then you're in to the realms of the spark quality.
Spark plug check on colour / wear. I'd probably start with the cheapest there and do spark plugs, see if that cures it, then leads, see if that cures it then coil pack.1 -
Its a Vauxhall, it was made with a lack of power.0

I had a similar issue on a Renault Megane and it was a faulty coil pack in the end (after changing all the spark plugs to no avail). Car suffered loss of power which was got worse until my car struggled up the hill that I lived on top of. Other symptoms were difficult to start engine and occasional random revving when idling.

If there is an obvious missfire, likely coilpack as said. If it just won't go then it may be the catalyst blocked, especially if the engine is using oil.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

Hi all,
Fault kept occurring, then the EML light came on, stuck an ODB reader on it and appears to be P0340 - Camshaft position sensor.
I'll get the parts and let you know if it solved it, so anyone searching for the same thing can find the answer.Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....1
